Keeping Up, 2011, Video Excerpt

Dual monitor installation, videos infinitely looped.

Exhibition text:
The two-screen video, Keeping Up (2011) depicts opposing mental states, one of affirmation and the other of anxious self-doubt. Presented as a double image - Sarah as Nicole, twice - and played on a perpetual loop, this internal fluctuating dialogue is made external with each side continually struggling for dominance. This double image of Nicole & Sarah enacts a concurrent mutual dependence on account of their craving for acknowledgement, and a mutual obsolescence by way of their concentrated self-obsession.
